About us

KiT is a young, independent Ukrainian publishing house searching for new stories and voices that have something meaningful to say.
We don’t limit ourselves to a single genre or format. We are interested in contemporary Ukrainian literature in all its diversity — from social and psychological fiction to non-fiction, graphic novels, magical realism, and genre experimentation.
We choose books not because they fit neatly onto a particular shelf, but because they speak about experiences worth making visible: war and memory, intimacy and the body, home, loss, coming of age, loneliness, the search for oneself, and our connection with others.
That is why our catalogue can be so diverse:
Art Under Fire documents the experiences of Ukrainian artists during the war.
Where the Light Doesn’t Reach explores the war through one woman’s personal story.
Without Instructions is about intimacy, boundaries, and growing up without the silences we have grown accustomed to.
Fluffy Tales uses stories about animals, blending realism and the fantastical, to speak first and foremost about people.
For us, publishing a book is not simply about bringing it into print. It is about finding its readers and giving a new authorial voice the chance to be heard. We want to build a catalogue where very different kinds of writing can exist side by side — as long as each of them leaves the reader with something more than just a story they have read.
